Call to all Artist Trust EDGE Graduates-


The Call

The Artist Trust EDGE 2008 B Cohort invite All EDGE graduates to participate in a spring exhibition titled “RISE.” This is an exhibit with a mission – a fundraiser for Rise n’ Shine, a local nonprofit assisting children affected by HIV/AIDS, and Artist Trust, supporting art at its source. Participants will have the opportunity to exhibit 5 works of their choice in the gallery, and will donate 1 original artwork to the Rise n’ Shine auction.

The Process

Submission Instructions: email 3 images of your work to If you are selected for participation in RISE, 1 (one) of the 3 pieces you submit will be chosen for the Rise n’ Shine silent auction.

Images: files must be .jpg no larger than 1mb – longest side no larger than 1000 pixels and labeled LASTNAME_01.jpg , LASTNAME_02.jpg, etc.

Include title, medium and dimensions in accompanying email.

DEADLINE 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 1st, 2010. Email submission only.

RISE. opening on April 24th with David Bromstad,- Design Star champion and host of HGTV’s Colorsplash.– David’s live painting, artist reception and silent auction preview.

The Location

The Seattle Design Center (SDC)-

Recently opened to the public, the SDC is a hub of connections for architects, interior designers and industry professionals located just south of downtown Seattle.

The Gallery

8,000+ sq. ft. showroom in the heart of the Seattle Design Center.

The Art

Original contemporary artworks from selected EDGE program graduate artists.

What You Give

RISE participants will pay a $30 participation fee to cover the artist’s reception and administration for the event ‘Occasion’.

RISE participants have an opportunity to exhibit up to 5 works of their own choosing in addition to exhibiting your donated piece.  Each artist will keep the proceeds of any sales, less a (20%) commission donated to Artist Trust.

RISE participating artists agree to donate one work of original art for the Rise n’ Shine Auction. Rise n’ Shine will keep 100% of all Auction sales and any works not sold will be returned to the artists. Any monies collected from participation fees will be shared between Artist Trust and Rise n’ Shine less exhibition expenses.

What You Get

Inclusion on the RISE project blog with a link to your website and a short paragraph describing the ideas/influences behind your auction piece.

Promotion for RISE will include local publications as well as national and international exposure on the web.

Support from a direct mail campaign that goes out to the SDC Audience of potential buyers.

RISE postcard and other promotions as a participant of the show.

Exposure to the extensive SDC audience.

Tax deduction for materials used in your work.

An opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children affected by HIV/AIDS through Rise n Shine and an opportunity to pay the gift forward by connecting with Artist Trust’s mission to support Art at its Source.
